Job Description
The Nordstrom Merchandising Technology team is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to support the Product Information Management (PIM) workstream, building a scalable platform for trusted, accessible product data that drives operational excellence, enables seamless partner integration, and accelerates business growth.
As a Sr. Technical Program Manager at Nordstrom, you will be a key member of the Technology organization, leading the delivery of cross-functional workstreams that deliver significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers. You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Business leaders to define, build, and launch high-impact technology solutions, ensuring end-to-end quality of all releases and driving execution excellence.
This role requires a strong blend of technical depth, program delivery rigor, and the ability to align diverse teams around enterprise goals. You will translate business objectives into actionable plans, manage risks, resolve ambiguity, and continuously improve delivery processes. Operating across organizational boundaries, you will lead programs with varying levels of scope, complexity, and strategic importance, requiring strong collaboration, structured problem-solving, and a strategic mindset to drive measurable outcomes.

+ Lead and manage complex, high-impact programs across multiple teams by building and executing integrated plans that balance risk, scope, and strategic priorities.
+ Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering leadership to define clear, actionable roadmaps that align with business goals and customer value.
+ Develop a deep understanding of product features and business value to help prioritize goals and deliverables for engineering teams.
+ Translate strategic business objectives into detailed program plans, proactively managing risks, dependencies, and ambiguity to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
+ Drive alignment across diverse, cross-functional teams by influencing and collaborating effectively toward shared enterprise goals.
+ Oversee integrated technology solutions, including in-house APIs, web applications, and suites of vendor products, ensuring cohesive architecture and seamless partner integration.
+ Collaborate across engineering, design, product, business, and leadership teams to align on goals and requirements, while critically evaluating technical designs to ensure efficient delivery of immediate outcomes and solid foundations for future work.
+ Champion operational excellence by continuously improving delivery processes, driving rigor and discipline throughout the program lifecycle.
+ Facilitate technical and design reviews, providing critical input to ensure scalability, testability, and long-term maintainability of solutions.
+ Serve as the primary communication lead for program status, risks, and mitigation strategies, delivering clear updates to stakeholders up to VP and executive levels.
+ Anticipate and resolve conflicts and blockers, proactively adjusting roadmaps and priorities to keep programs on track.
+ Manage vendor and partner relationships, ensuring alignment with Nordstrom’s strategic objectives and quality standards.
+ Foster a culture of continuous learning by applying lessons learned and root cause analyses to improve system stability and team maturity.
+ Utilize strong technical expertise to troubleshoot complex issues, assess system impacts, and guide trade-off decisions focused on customer outcomes.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
+ 5+ years of Technical Program Management experience leading cross-functional programs in complex, dynamic, and high-impact technology environment.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple dependencies with minimal supervision while navigating ambiguity, driving alignment, and influencing stakeholders across engineering, product, and business teams.
+ Strong technical acumen with a solid understanding of APIs, event-driven architectures, cloud technologies, system integrations, and SDLC methodologies.
+ Experience working in Agile software development environments, with proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, or the ability to quickly adapt to new tools.
+ Demonstrated ability to draft technical requirements, articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences, and contribute effectively to technical and architectural discussions.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record in stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and successful vendor/partner collaboration.
+ Proactive problem-solving and risk management skills, supported by strong analytical capabilities and experience in defining and tracking KPIs.
+ Ability to thrive in ambiguity, manage complexity, and build high-performing program teams that consistently deliver value.
+ Experience supporting retail systems or solutions is a plus

+ This is a hybrid position requiring the selected candidate to work onsite a minimum of three (3) days per week and reside within a commutable distance of our corporate offices in Seattle, WA.

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $120,500 - $220,500 Annually
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
