    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible for interacting with tooling vendors and facilitating in-house repairs, inspections, and storage of tooling. Die handlers must represent PCA in a positive and professional manner at all times.

     

    Tooling inventory management is required for this position. All cutting dies and print dies must be properly accounted for and maintained in the data base. Tracking of tooling movement is critical and must be maintained utilizing Microsoft Office, Outlook email, Sharepoint and Excel.

     

    All cutting dies and print dies for up-coming orders up to 16 hours out, must be located and staged as necessary. Any issues must be communicated promply to the supervisor, lead person, plant scheduler and customer service.

     

    Responsible for making minor repairs to cutting dies and print dies as needed. Major repairs will be sent out to the vendor to perform repairs.

     

    Responsible for pulling and staging tooling to be transferred as needed. All tooling transfers must be documented, communicated and spread sheets accurately maintained for tracking purposes. Any issues are to be immediately reported to the supervisor, lead person, manager, scheduler and customer service as needed.

     

    General materials need to be ordered in monthly quantities as much as possible, practical and economical.

     

    Tooling repair area (cutting dies), print die repair areas all need maintained for organization, cleanliness and accessibility.

     

    Inspect new and incoming tooling. Mark tooling with locations and put away in racks.

     

    Inspect tooling before and after production runs.

     

    Receive ink orders and maintain ink storage and cleanliness.

     

    Purge all print plates and cutting dies as needed and complete appropriate documentation.

     

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    High school diploma or GED.

     

    Working knowledge of EVOL and rotary cutting die machines preferred. Ability to repair cutting dies as needed. Ability to read a tape measure (standard and metric).

     

    Trained on safety, quality, and operational areas of the plant.

     

    Works well in a team environment.

     

    Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed. Ability to be on your feet for prolonged periods of time.

     

    Attention to detail is a must.

     

    Must be very organized.

     

    Maintain a safe, clean work area.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Manufacturing or Industry Experience preferred.

     

    Experience or knowledge of rotary cutting dies used in the corrugated industry is preferred.
