The role you’ll contribute:
The Director of Physician Wellness and Culture is a key leader responsible for evaluating complex team and departmental dynamics and implementing tailored interventions to enhance team and operational performance. This position reports to the Executive Director of Physician Well-Being & Engagement and the Dyad CCO Designee as defined by the System CCO. The role offers primary support to designated teams to enhance strategic direction and business outcomes. This leader advocates for physician and APP-centric organizational transformation, ensuring that physician and APP well-being are integral to strategic decision-making across all organizational levels, and for proposing recommendations for team interventions that are impacted by physician & APP well-being as needs arise. This role builds trust and relationships, aligns goals and objectives with AdventHealth's Physician Well-Being & Engagement department and organizational strategies, and achieves these through identified best practices and methods. The Director works closely with senior leadership, supporting organizational policy, resource allocation, and strategic planning to foster sustainable improvements in the physician and APP work environment. This position demands an in-depth understanding of healthcare operations, change management, and organizational development to synchronize physician and APP well-being initiatives with broader institutional goals, while measuring and demonstrating their strategic impact on key performance indicators. Working in partnership with local teams to cultivate positive, collaborative dynamics that contribute to high-performing teams. The Director communicates a vision that fosters engagement and a positive culture that aligns to that of AdventHealth. Partnering with key stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, this role employs active listening skills to serve as a sounding board for clients, challenging ideas, and guiding the development of strategically-aligned solutions.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
+ **Build relationships with campus and/or clinic-level senior leadership and local support teams, including HR, Quality, and Patient Experience, to ensure alignment and support.**
+ **Conduct comprehensive assessments of organizational factors contributing to physician burnout, to include behavioral tools to assess the impact of change on departments, using assessments of organizational culture, performance and readiness for change**
+ **Ensure organizational alignment with stakeholders across the continuum to achieve desired outcomes for identified team/unit/clinic.**
+ **Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and organizational leadership to ensure the success of the team.**
+ **Identify and document teams current processes, research best practices, conduct volume and utilization analysis, develop key performance indicators and future state recommendations, document current leadership processes and create standard work documents to facilitate culture sustainability.**
+ **Design and implement a comprehensive heat map to identify physicians or physician groups experiencing challenges such as burnout or low engagement, enabling targeted interventions and support strategies.**
+ **Lead initiatives to conduct a causal analysis for physicians facing organizational challenges, identifying underlying issues and implementing effective solutions.**
+ **Develop and implement metrics to measure the impact of cultural changes on physician and APP well-being, conduct regular cultural assessments, and evaluate the effectiveness of cultural transformation initiative**
+ **Act as trusted advisor and subject matter expert to the local teams**
+ **Execute and drive performance—support clinical performance improvement activities**
+ **Support leaders in the development of individual employee development strategies**
+ **Facilitate short term touchpoints/checkpoints after completion of intervention project.**
Qualifications
The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed** **:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+ Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Communications, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, HR Management or related field.
+ 5 years of relevant experience in education, behavioral health, business administration, or hospital healthcare quality.
+ Clinical background or experience working directly with physicians.
+ Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to identify and implement appropriate interventions
+ Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills and success with building trust with physicians
+ Deep understanding of healthcare operations and physician practice environments
+ Flexible, independent professional with strong ability to multi-task
+ Understanding and knowledge of physician burnout prevention and wellness promotion Consistently demonstrates good judgement, critical thinking, and creative solutioning
+ Change Management experience working on continuous improvement management frameworks and creative communication plans.
+ Proven track record of achieving business objectives through leading complex initiatives
+ Leadership training
+ Extensive experience facilitating and managing challenging situations, including conflict resolution
+ Ability to guide and coordinate project teams in a multi-stakeholder context
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
+ Process Improvement experience
+ Organizational change management experience
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:
+ Change Management Certification (i.e. Prosci)
+ Lean Management Certification
