    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The Vice President of Population Health reports directly to the Chief Population Health Officer for the Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) and works collaboratively in a matrixed relationship with the CEO for AdventHealth Medical Group in the Central Florida Division. The Vice President provides divisional leadership and operational execution to support population health and value-based care strategies. This executive will serve as a strategic partner to market senior level executives to drive contract performance in value-based payment models, achieve financial goals and grow value-based covered lives. This leader is responsible for implementing solutions that achieve top quartile performance in quality and utilization, appropriate reimbursement for health care services, fostering partnerships with employers, leading in provider-led pharmacy solutions, and offering strategic plan design insights.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** **:

    • Responsible for effectively managing and overseeing programs that prepare for / supportive of value-based care arrangements. Ensure the programs, services and care models of the region support the various population health services strategies and risk/value-based agreements with payers, employers, unions and individuals.

    • Responsible for operationalizing innovative programs and services to drive contract performance in the area of quality, patient satisfaction and finance. Through PHSO and Population Health analytics enhances and executes population health strategies; establishes and ensures achievement of population health metrics.

    • Partners with the Clinically Integrated Network, Institutes and medical group to develop and prioritize innovative approaches to the use of analytics that will facilitate division level quality, advance efficacy of care delivery, improve health outcomes, enhance the patient experience and reduce cost

    • In collaboration with the Chief Population Health Officer and Medical Group CEO, develops and implements strategies to grow value-based products in the Central Florida Division, including Medicare Advantage, commercial payers, direct to employer agreements, managed Medicaid and various CMS programs and bundled payments.

    • Fosters effective collaboration between the PHSO, Managed Care, CIN providers, AH medical groups, Acute Care Services (ACS) leadership, Institute executives, Ambulatory Services, CMO, Chief Clinical Officer and other affiliated services to improve quality and utilization to manage risk in value-based payment models.

    • Responsible for proactively identifying and responding to market development opportunities for value-based growth.

    • Collaborates with research and analytics to oversee provider and division leadership education, marketing and communication to support shared risk contracts, capitation models and network integrity. In collaboration with the Sr. VP Population Health, refines and communicates the physician incentive model.

    • Oversees the focus on health outcomes and the strategy, process, and implementation of key operational roll-outs that lead to new care programs, evidence based guidelines, reports and analytics, while providing leadership and guidance.

    • Maintains communication and interacts with stakeholders, leaders, and clinical staff to update and lead efforts including financial and quality aspects of contract performance, care coordination, clinical documentation improvement, physician engagement, and network performance.

    • Analyzes performance reports and data to improve decision making, process and program implementation.

    • Monitors and oversees educational and process interventions based on practice-level data, trends and identified opportunities.

     

    Subject matter expert in current population health analytics and information technology tools, and is informs on trends and emerging thinking in the field of Population Health data and analytics.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Previous experience in population health value-based care, risk-based payment models, commercial bundles and managed care contracting.

    • Ability to build and maintain optimal peer and physician relationships through influence and collaboration to drive organizational objectives and lead productive teams.

    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively express ideas and views through public speaking, presentations, reports, and professional correspondence.

    • Mature interpersonal skills that positively affect collaborative relationships and building consensus across the organization as well as in the development of staff and emerging leaders.

    • Strong business acumen, intelligence, and capacity; able to think strategically and implement tactically.

    • Approaches his/her work as an interconnected system. Ability to understand major objectives and break them down into meaningful action steps.

    • Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    _KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:_

    • Healthcare finance and economics knowledge

    • Knowledge in value-based clinical care programs and practice transformation

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Degree in business, healthcare administration or related field

    • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in healthcare, provider practice or health plans

    • Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership experience
