    _·_ _AdventHealth Minneola's 80-bed hospital will bring inpatient care to the growing population of South Lake County. Spanning approximately 204,000 square feet, the hospital will include an emergency department; full-service imaging; five operating suites; endoscopy services; outpatient laboratory; heart catheterization labs; critical care and general medical/surgical rooms.     The role you’ll contribute:

    _The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective workflow in all pharmacy areas, including the central operations of the main hospital pharmacy, the sterile operations of the cleanroom pharmacy, and the satellite operations. This role involves handling and resolving complex issues and complaints, performing the duties of a pharmacist as needed to fulfill required service levels, and providing administrative support and supervision of pharmacy staff. The supervisor may work in centralized or decentralized areas and is accountable for customer services to inpatient and outpatient care areas, including night operations oversight. This position coordinates the day-to-day personnel assignments and activities of the pharmacists to assure that all processes are completed in a timely manner and according to the pharmacy's stated goals. The Pharmacy Supervisor trains and manages members of the pharmacist team, enforces departmental and pharmacy policies, and initiates development plans as needed to assure regulatory compliance and optimal service standards. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for direct oversight of operations, including medication dispensing programs, pharmacy automation, and medication inventory to ensure the effective and timely provision of pharmacy services and medication therapy. Supervises staff to ensure accurate evidence-based medication services are provided to patients and pharmacy support services are available to medical and nursing staff to improve medication utilization and enhance treatment outcomes. Actively participates in operations as a regularly scheduled pharmacist and is committed to outstanding customer service, maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all._

    + Pharmacy Operations – Able to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Assists with new employee orientation and supervises pharmacy staff to perform duties according to job description. Actively performs all pharmacist functions, actively participates in established standard work parameters, and maintains functional proficiency in and actively provides coverage of central pharmacy and/or satellite areas as requested. Maintains operational expertise in, actively provides coverage of, and proactively leads the services provided by central pharmacy, IV room pharmacy, and/or satellite pharmacy areas. Oversees and ensures appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems. Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and dispensing of patient-specific medication doses. May supervise technician, resident, and intern practice, prioritizes workload, organizes work flow, and checks accuracy of pharmacy technician activities.

    + Pharmacy Practice – Completes critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems. Proficiently verifies/enters medication orders and proactively communicates with medical staff to resolve problem medication orders. Provides patient-centered care services, including accurate, safe and timely medication therapy, and promotes cost-effective drug therapy, including actively participating in stewardship activities and restricted medication/surveillance programs. Initiates and facilitates appropriate drug dosing and manages medication-related pharmacist consults. Facilitates medication safety practices, including identifying, mitigating, and reporting potential and actual adverse drug events, adverse drug reactions, and medication errors. Participates in the management of medical emergencies. Maintains continuous learning and pharmacy practice development.

    + Clinical Pharmacy Services – Actively participates in direct patient care programs and provides accurate, safe, timely, and appropriate medication therapy based on patient needs. Works as an active member of pharmacy clinical programs and collaborates with healthcare providers and pharmacy staff, and places practice priority on the delivery of patient-centered care.

    + Teamwork and Inter-professional Collaboration

    The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** **:

    Minimum qualifications:

    + **Applicable State Pharmacy License**

    + **Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school**

    + **Three years of Hospital Pharmacy Experience**

    Preferred qualifications:

    + **Doctorate in Pharmacy**

    + **One year of Pharmacy Supervisor Experience**

    + **Pharmacy Residency Training**

    + **Consultant Pharmacist License as applicable per State Board of Pharmacy**

    + **Board Certification**
