    Description

    SAIC is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to perform admin level support within AWS/Azure etc. in both NIPR and SIPR networks; monitor and maintain client OS and instances; troubleshoot network and security configurations within AWS and Azure cloud platforms to ensure both security and high availability are met; and be responsible for ensuring all STIGS are in place and address ACAS findings are patched and cleared for both the client OS and the instance. Cloud Systems Administrators must have a strong understanding of cloud computing fundamentals and be familiar with AWS/Azure terminology and interfaces. Cloud Systems Administrators must have a working knowledge of cloud networking and virtualization, possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s systems’ software and security requirements.

     

    The Cloud Systems Administrator is a pivotal role within our IT infrastructure team, providing tier three systems support in line with the SIE OPORD. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of government PAAS, SAAS coupled with advanced skills in analysis, troubleshooting, and system design. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is a critical component of this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Manage and administer the AWS/Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security.

    + Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.

    + Migrate existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions.

    + Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions.

    + Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss.

    + Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized.

    + Ensure all resources components meet proper performance and capacity standards

    + Innovate and implement new technologies to advance mission readiness.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree & 5+ years of experience; OR Master's Degree & 3+ years of experience.

    + Minimum of 2+ years of AWS/Microsoft Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration, and optimization.

    + Proven track record in managing production Windows Servers and implementing top-tier security practices within an enterprise environment.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft operating platforms and office applications.

    + Demonstrated ability in performance optimization and system engineering processes.

    + Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.

    + Strong technical writing proficiency.

    Certification Requirements:

    + DoDD 8570.01-M IAT Level II.

    + MCSA – Cloud Platform **OR**

    + AWS Cloud Practitioner **OR**

    + AWS Solution Architect Associate **OR**

    + CompTIA Cloud Essentials **OR**

    + Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

    Additional Information:

    + Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as required.

    + Travel requirements: Less than 10%.
