Job Summary

Implements, communicates and provides education for CDM regulatory compliant charge master charge codes and charging practices for acute care, critical care, SNF's, Restorative, Rehabilitation, facilities, Urgent Care Clinics and Physician Practices including maintain a corporate standard chargemaster. Coordinates and implements special projects and regulatory changes in various software systems. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

+ Maintains a regulatory compliant charge master to ensure compliant reporting of services and appropriate reimbursement for facility and professional services. Reviews all components of the chargemaster including but not limited to revenue, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers and descriptions to ensure coding and regulatory compliance.

+ Works with other disciplines and entity staff to ensure organizational goals, department goals and special project timelines are met, including the ability to organize and implement a comprehensive standard corporate and facility charge masters. Implementing appropriate cost centers to ensure department revenue integrity.

+ Coordinates special projects & implementation to ensure department and organization goals and timelines are met accurately and consistently.

+ Participates in software implementation and upgrades.

+ Maintains the integrity of all chargemaster's and resource documents for historic reference as needed by corporate and entity departments.

+ Completes assigned goals.

Specifications

Experience

Description: Clinical patient care experience or coding of acute care patient care. Auditing or coding of acute care patient bills, UB claims, NCCI edits and medical necessity experience. Successful demonstration and detailed understanding of the charge master components including but not limited to revenue codes, CPT codes, HCPCS and modifiers. Charge master maintenance through various billing, clinical and chargemaster software.

Minimum Required: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience ( or acute care coding) with 6 years charge master experience in the acute facility healthcare setting. Knowledge of healthcare charging and billing regulations including federal, local and state.

Preferred/Desired: Minimum 3 years of clinical patient care experience, 3 years clinical billing auditing or coding experience and 6 years charge master experience in the acute healthcare setting.

Education

Preferred/Desired

BS, BAA, RN, LPN, RRA, ART, CPC, CPC-H or CCS license or certifications and a minimum of 6 years charge master and related charging practice experience in the acute care setting.
