Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Regional behavioral health team at Hackettstown Medical Center. This robust team for Newton and Hackettstown Medical Centers, is comprised of 5 full-time psychiatrists, 7 APNs the candidate will have the support of the regional medical director.
The candidate will provide clinical leadership and patient care for children and adolescents with psychiatric needs in a newly developed Intensive Outpatient Program, and Outpatient Service
The ideal candidate will serve as a role model for clinical excellence and participate in weekly treatment team meetings for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Additionally, the candidate will provide clinical mentorship to Advanced Practice Nurses within the Hackettstown Behavioral Health Department and collaborate with key quality and safety leaders to ensure high-quality psychiatric care. Responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing or ruling out mental disorders, prescribing treatments, and conducting regular follow-up appointments to monitor the patient's progress. Researching new developments in psychiatry and mental health.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Assessing patients through interviews, observations, tests, and medical history reviews.
2. Diagnosing patients accurately.
3. Developing comprehensive treatment plans and prescribing medication as needed.
4. Consulting with other medical professionals and psychologists.
5. Regularly following up with the patient to check progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.
6. Thoroughly documenting each patient's diagnosis, symptoms, medication, treatment effectiveness, etc.
7. Providing patients with emotional support and strategies to help manage their disorder.
8. Researching new developments in psychiatry and mental health.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $300,000–$350,000 base salary only; excludes any quality and/or productivity incentives
Required:
1. Doctor of Medicine.
2. 4 years of psychiatric residency.
3. Superior listening ability and emotional intelligence.
Preferred:
1. Board of Psychiatry certification and state license.
2. Expert diagnostic skills.
