At CCaaS Platform, we’re at the forefront of designing and deploying Walmart’s next generation Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platform. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distinguished Data Scientist to join our team. In this individual contributor role, you will report directly to the Sr. Director of Engineering and GenAI. You will actively shape the organization’s AI strategies and provide thought leadership. You will be sought after to design and develop cutting-edge AI solutions and algorithms while mentoring and guiding data scientists and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
This is an IC role with an expectation to be hands-on coding 80% of the time.
What you'll do:
This is a vital role with significant growth prospects. You will have work to do from day one and will be counted on to create opportunities that align with the overall organization goals. Some of the key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
+ Supporting a growing team of domain experts within LLM Research of Generative AI.
+ Developing technical vision, long-term strategy, and setting direction for the team and the organization.
+ Driving the execution of developing models and systems.
+ Communicating, collaborating, and building relationships with clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects.
+ Remaining up to date on ongoing research and development activities in the team, helping work through technical challenges, and being involved in design decisions.
+ Guiding and leading the organization's data scientists to design, architect, and build AI/ML models and model systems.
+ Collaborating with cross-functional teams and machine learning engineers to deploy, operate, and optimize scalable solutions.
+ Consulting product managers on AI/Gen AI-driven use cases.
+ Upholding robust work standards and responsible AI standards to ensure we build trustworthy AI/ML solutions.
+ Driving a culture of accountability, ownership, and inclusivity within the team.
+ Participating in code reviews, architectural discussions, and troubleshooting sessions to ensure the highest standards of development.
What you'll bring:
Some of the skills needed for this role include, but are not limited to:
+ 10+ years of experience in AI Research.
+ 15+ years of experience with the full ML development lifecycle.
+ Experience building machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation & monitoring.
+ Experience delivering very large models through the MLOps lifecycle from exploration to serving and implementing capabilities to support MLOps of LLMs.
+ Deep experience working with applications that leverage LLMs and vertical integration with enterprise applications.
+ Experience with LLM application evaluation strategy and interpretability, fairness, and security of LLMs.
+ Experience with generative AI technology stack including prompt engineering, guardrails, vector databases, advanced RAG, KAG, CAG, LLM hosting, and fine-tuning.
+ Extensive hands-on experience with a broad stack of technologies — Python, Huggingface, VectorDB, Tensorflow, Pytorch, ElasticSearch, Azure, etc.
+ Authored research publications in top peer-reviewed conferences (NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR/AAAI), or industry-recognized contributions.

Sunnyvale, California US-04397:The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00-$338,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735:The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 6 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 8 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
