    Russell Sage College has been preparing highly effective educators for more than 100 years. During this exciting time in our institution's history, we recognize the need to support our past, current, and future students, and therefore, the institution seeks a faculty member to teach and lead within our MS in School Health Education program. With a rich history in preparing future educators to be advocates for School Health Education, we look to support our students as they pursue working within the teaching profession. Our program predominantly serves recent college graduates from our Physical Education program as they pursue an additional New York State teaching credential. However, the program offers pathways for those looking to change careers, join the profession from a content rich undergraduate experience, or others seeking certification in NYS as a School Health educator.

     

    The Department of Professional Education Programs of The Esteves School of Education at Russell Sage College invites applications for a part-time faculty (non-tenure track) position at the rank of Lecturer, Health Education, effective for Academic Year 2025/2026. The candidate will be responsible for teaching 3 graduate-level courses in the MS in School Health Education program (likely 2 in the Fall and 1 in the Spring), and advising all program majors.

     

    The estimated base academic year salary for this position is $25,000, commensurate with experience.

    Job Requirements:

    The successful candidate will have significant experience as a licensed K-12 school health educator; experience in teaching in higher education; a commitment to skills based school health education, and a passion for working with future educators. The selected candidate will have the skills and abilities to teach across modalities [in-person, hybrid, and online (both synchronous and asynchronous)].

    Preferred:

    In addition to the minimum requirements, the preferred candidate will have an earned terminal degree in health education; leadership dispositions; and experience in higher education with accreditation, and program development.
