    The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

     

    This role in summary

     

    Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Sr Reliability Maintenance Engineer. This role is onsite at our Tulsa, OK location.

     

    The Sr Reliability Maintenance Engineer is a key leadership role responsible for improving the reliability, performance, and uptime of plant equipment and systems. This role involves analyzing equipment issues, failures and breakdowns; identifying root causes, developing planned maintenance such as; preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance strategies, and implementing engineering solutions to eliminate chronic issues. Sr Reliability Maintenance Engineer works closely with production, safety and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in asset reliability, safety, and efficiency for ensuring the optimal performance of the maintenance team and manufacturing lines of the plant that includes seven assembly lines, finishing processes lines, paint line, furnaces, washing line and stamping presses. This position leads a team of approximately 50 hourly maintenance team members and plays a critical role in driving the plant’s efficiency, reliability, and safety. This role will plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensuring that the team is effectively deployed to meet plant needs.

     

    The Sr Reliability Maintenance Engineer will analyze maintenance data, develop strategies to improve equipment uptime, and ensure that maintenance activities align with the plant’s overall production goals.

    Your responsibilities will include

    + This role is a key position for the implementation of the Professional Maintenance Pillar ensuring the implementation of the World Class Manufacturing methodology (WCM).

    + Actively contribute to WCM activities in the Safety, Autonomous Maintenance, Quality, People Development and Engineering Pillars.

    + Manage and supervise the maintenance supervisors and/or maintenance technicians schedule tasks and management of the workload.

    + Make analysis of the breakdowns and failures of the machines using Emergency Work Order (EWO) Analysis / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to analyze and investigate equipment failures and downtime events to determine root causes and implement corrective actions and countermeasures against the root cause.

    + Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM): Develop, optimize, and manage PM and PdM programs using tools such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis, and ultrasonic testing.

    + Data Analysis: Utilize CMMS, SCADA, and other data sources to track and analyze reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, OEE).

    + Technical support to other departments or pillar teams during troubleshooting and repair activities.

    + Train maintenance and operations personnel on reliability best practices and develop SMPs, troubleshooting, lessons learned and technical documentation.

    + Provide and lead capital projects of new equipment and improvement projects with a focus on reliability, optimization and maintainability.

    + Drive the implementation of new technologies and methodologies to improve maintenance performance.

    + Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, plant policies, and industry standards.

    + Lead incident investigations related to maintenance activities, identifying corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    + Optimize the use of resources to meet maintenance and production goals within budget constraints.

    + Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance performance, including downtime EWO analysis, countermeasures, cost tracking, and equipment reliability metrics.

    + Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history.

    Minimum requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field.

    + 10+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment such as assembly lines and stamping presses in large scale manufacturing plants.

    + 8+ years of leadership experience, managing large teams of maintenance personnel.

    + Strong knowledge and experience with manufacturing machines, mechanical, electrical,hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor control systems.

    + Strong knowledge and experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), sensors, and industrial controls.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

    + Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

    + Superior organizational skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.

    + Excellent leadership, ability to prioritize work and problem-solving skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to think strategically, critically, and logically.

    Preferred skills and experiences

    + Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable strategies.

    + Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others.

    + Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.

    + Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and their application in maintenance.

    + Familiar with reliability tools like FMEA, RCM, Weibull analysis.

    + Proficient in root cause analysis techniques (RCA, EWO, 5Whys, 5W+1H, 5Gs).

    + Experience with CMMS (SAP, Maximo, Oracle) and data analysis tools.
