Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

NBC Sports Bay Area/California is a regional sports content creator with both linear television and digital platform distribution. NBCSBA/CA is the home for Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, A’s, San Jose Sharks, Sacramento Kings games, pregame & postgame coverage and a full complement of digital/social coverage.
Our linear network and digital platforms serve the Bay Area and Northern California sports fans like no one else. We operate two linear channels, plus up-to-the-minute sports news and exclusive series digitally at nbcsportsbayarea.com, and through its social channels on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
As an Engineering intern, you will be supporting the engineering and operations technology to ensure quality product on air.
A snapshot of your responsibilities:
+ Assist with special projects, equipment installation, and testing.
+ Assist the engineering team with research regarding system documentation and cabling.
+ Support live and taped show productions.
Basic Qualifications
+ Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2025 through April 2026).
+ Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
+ Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2025 through April 2026). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
+ Must be available to work 16 to 24 hours per week from September 15, 2025 to April 17, 2026.
+ Must be willing to work in San Francisco, California.
Desired Characteristics
+ Students with a class standing of junior or above preferred.
+ Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
+ Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
+ Familiarity with Bay Area sports
+ Basic level of technical knowledge of broadcast audio, video, and signal flow
+ Proficiency with computer systems, networking, and hardware.
+ High attention to detail and organization
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Adaptable, self-starter and team player
+ Customer-service focused with high-integrity
+ Comfortable working in various physical environments (e.g. under desks, in server rooms)
+ Interest in production and broadcast technology
+ Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

+ Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from our San Francisco office.

Compensation: The hourly rate for this internship is $19.18 per hour.
