    The Opportunity

     

    The **Audit Data Analytics (Executive)** is responsible for the development and implementation of the data analytics strategy for USAA’s Audit Services department. This leader drives innovation in data analytics technologies and methodologies and collaborates with senior executives across the Audit organization to leverage data-driven insights for improved risk management, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. Key USAA executive responsible for Data & Analytics for Audit Services applying innovative techniques to transform the Associations approaches as well as implement industry leading practices and tools to a large and complex organization.

     

    We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be **in the office 4 days per week.** This position will be based in San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

    What you’ll do:

    + Develops and implements the short-term and long-term vision for Audit Data Analytics strategy aligning the work to the overall business strategy while ensuring alignment with IIA, regulatory and internal standards (i.e., Policies, Procedures, Standards, Guidance, Audit Universe, Risk Assessments, Service Quality, and Stakeholder Management).

    + Manages all aspects of the delivery and execution of annual audit plan and supporting audit reports while ensuring appropriate risks are covered including follow-up of issues.

    + Accountable for decisions around proactive assurance and continuous and business monitoring at CoSA level.

    + Proactively identifies and evaluates emerging data analytics technologies and methodologies (e.g., AI, ML, advanced visualization) and champions their adoption within the organization. Keeps current on best practices and emerging analytics activities within the financial services industry and adapts team’s capabilities accordingly.

    + Leverages deep understanding of analytics technologies and familiarity of common tools and platforms used in data analytics (e.g., cloud platforms. Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI; programming languages like Python or R) to assess usage of applicable programs as part of Audit’s Data Analytics strategy.

    + Leads large-scale assessments across dynamic organizations to identify analytical capabilities and suitability of different technologies, prepare business cases weighing opportunities and risks to an organization and be able to define Return On Investment (ROI) of approaches.

    + Leverages subject matter expertise to understand the strengths and weaknesses of different analytical models to interpret their outputs in a business context identifying potential biases and limitation

    + Builds strong internal and external relationships with peers and senior executives across the organization, effectively communicating complex data analytics concepts to non-technical audiences and influences decision-making based on data-driven insights.

    + Identifies and pursues opportunities to utilize advanced data delivery and audit business solutions techniques to optimize contribution to resolving business issues.

    + Serves as primary liaison between Audit Analytics function and Enterprise analytics teams to build USAA core analytics capabilities and processes within the Audit team and improve delivery, value, and integration of analytics into business/enterprise processes.

    + Establishes and oversees a robust framework for managing data risks and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

    + Builds and oversees a high performing team of employees for Audit Analytics function to deliver high quality results including the identification, development and retention of talent with requisite data analytics capabilities as well as providing leadership, development and mentorship through coaching and support and overseeing performance management, and managerial activities. Works with Directors in areas of responsibility to control expenses and build team succession plans.

    What you have:

    + Bachelor's degree in quantitative analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or other quantitative discipline.

    + 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

    + 10 years of progressive experience developing and implementing data, analytics and predictive modeling strategies and tools including coding techniques and, managing major initiatives and delivering results within a complex, regulated matrix environment required.

    + 4 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams required.

    + Experience driving results in a complex financial services organization with data and analytics reporting, tools, databases.

    + Knowledgeable about the financial industry and related markets, related regulatory bodies, and current industry events and trends.

    + Comprehensive knowledge of applicable compliance, risk, and regulatory data requirements.

    + Experience working in a complex, regulated, and fast paced environment.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: This encompasses clear written and oral communication, handling sensitive situations, and collaborating effectively across all levels of an organization.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities: This includes gathering and analyzing data, preparing concise reports, and using this information to influence decisions and achieve strategic goals.

    + Executive-level business acumen: This highlights a deep understanding of business operations, industry best practices, and emerging trends.

     

    The salary range for this position is: $169,880 - $305,780.

     

    **Compensation:** USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.

     

    Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

    Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
