    Job Summary: The Marketing Specialist – Graphic Design promotes NorthStar Care Community (NSCC) brands, which include Arbor Hospice, Centrica Care Navigators, and Hospice of Michigan, and fosters positive public image through written and graphic communication. This role will be responsible for designing and producing compelling visual content across print and digital platforms to engage patients, families, donors, and the community.

    Essential Functions:

    + Assists the AVP, Marketing & Communications in the development of compelling content about NSCC through writing, photography and graphic design.

    + Develops marketing materials cross departmentally to support agency service lines.

    + Ensures all projects are completed as scheduled, within budget, while meeting original objectives.

    + Updates spreadsheets, databases and other tracking mechanisms with statistical, financial and other relevant information.

    + Works with the marketing team to brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies.

    + Designs and produces high-quality print and digital marketing materials including brochures, flyers, social media graphics, presentations, newsletters, and event collateral.

    + Maintains brand consistency across all materials, ensuring designs align with the organization’s tone, mission, and visual identity.

    + Collaborates with the marketing and communications team to develop creative concepts for campaigns, programs, and events.

    + Manages and updates content on the organization’s WordPress websites.

    + Supports digital marketing efforts through visual storytelling, including social media posts, web graphics, and email marketing campaigns.

    + Assists with photography, photo editing, and image management as needed.

    + Ensures all materials comply with HIPAA and other healthcare-related regulations.

    + Works with vendors to coordinate printing and production of materials.

    + Assists in the marketing of promotional events to promote NSCC and participates in the activities to help facilitate their success.

    + Collaborates with staff and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing efforts.

    + Proactively stays abreast of Hospice and palliative care trends, best practices and any anticipated compliance changes.

    + Adheres to the organizational Code of Conduct and always represents NorthStar Care Community in a positive and professional manner.

    + Adheres to the NorthStar standards to care for every person, every time, 100% of the time.

    Qualifications:

    + Associate’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field required or the combination of relevant experience/education/training may be considered; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    + Three (3) or more years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or service-driven environments is required.

    + Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) required.

    + Experience with Canva for collaborative design and templating required.

    + Familiarity with WordPress content management and basic website editing preferred.

    + Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills.

    + Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

    + Must be well versed in specialized marketing concepts and tactics with demonstrated experience in the use of social media for marketing purposes.

    + Ability to travel to regional offices, as needed, is required.

    + Previous project management experience required along with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

    + Previous experience in writing for websites, blog posts, donor communications and nonprofit reporting preferred.

    + Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Passion for compassionate care and supporting end-of-life services is highly desirable.

    + Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and be able to communicate orally and in writing in internal and external relationships for all essential job functions.

    + Ability to prioritize multiple demands. Demonstrates integrity and flexibility and participates actively in change and quality improvement initiatives.

    + Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, effective organizational, prioritization and follow-through skills, attention to detail, tact, dependability, emotional intelligence and the ability to maintain confidentiality and promote positive, constructive relationships with communication and collaboration at all levels.

    + The physical and sensory demands of the position include: vision, effective speech and hearing for extensive telephone contact; repetitive motion; traveling; driving or riding in motor vehicle; standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and stretching; lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted.

    + Must have reliable transportation to be able to travel and maintain the rigors of a busy schedule. Frequently works variable hours/days; activities and workload may require extended days.

    + Must be eligible to work in the United States.
