Join UCLA Health as an Investigational Drug Services (IDS) Research Pharmacy Supervisor in a key leadership role within the Department of Pharmacy. Reporting to the Research Pharmacy Manager, you will oversee daily operations in an outpatient research pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC). This position is instrumental in ensuring regulatory compliance with state and federal laws, supervising pharmacy staff, supporting education and training, and maintaining high standards in clinical, administrative, and operational pharmacy practice.
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing investigational drug protocols, applying your knowledge of USP <797> and <800>, and supporting high-stakes research that advances the frontiers of medicine. In addition, you will foster collaboration across departments, lead performance improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures. Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday (Onsite)
Annual Salary Range: $140,200.00 - $331,800.00 (commensurate with experience and in alignment with internal equity)
Qualifications
We're seeking a dedicated clinical professional with:
+ Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy
+ Current California Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist licensure in good standing
+ Ability to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and apply for non-resident licenses in additional states within 3 months of hire
+ Minimum of 2 years of research pharmacy experience, including investigational drug services and regulatory compliance
+ Experience with sterile product preparation and compliance with USP <797> and <800> standards
+ Strong knowledge of state and federal regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., California Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission)
+ Experience supervising, training, scheduling, and evaluating pharmacy staff
+ Ability to lead departmental operations and ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives
+ Excellent communication, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
+ Proficiency in electronic medical record systems such as EPIC/Care Connect, with ability to interpret laboratory and clinical data
+ Experience in oncology, investigational drug protocols, or clinical trials
+ Familiarity with pharmacy IT systems and safety protocols
+ Board certification (BPS), completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency, and prior leadership or PIC experience
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and serve as a liaison between pharmacy, prescribers, and research stakeholders
