    SUMMARY

    Apply advanced technical knowledge to install computer network systems and solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents while providing direct, contract related support.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Install, test, repair, replace and troubleshoot stand-alone PCs, PCs linked to networks, printers, routers, switches and other computer peripherals through standard cabling and fiber-optic connections.

    + Prepare sites, such as removing the existing equipment, displays, wall mounted TVs, white boards, and furniture; coordinate disposition of removed equipment; dispose of equipment after receiving approval.

    + Responsible for software installation and configurations, hardware and computer assembly, routing of communication cables through walls, ceilings and false floors.

    + Perform on-site technical, operational, and training support to end users. Support by phone and after normal duty hours, as needed.

    + Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of an Electronics Maintenance Technician I / II / III.

    + Install new / modify existing computer systems in a networked environment.

    + Configure operating systems and / or load application software programs as needed.

    + Perform termination of CAT5/6 cable runs.

    + Troubleshoot miscellaneous hardware problems by performing hardware and software diagnostics.

    + Coordinate needed repairs with equipment manufacturer when unable to locally resolve any issues or failures.

    + Resolve computer software problems, including communications between users and components.

    + Record and report all installation and maintenance activities and failures.

    + Maintain accurate control of all equipment and tools inventory.

    + Follow all operations security (OPSEC) procedures and policies.

    + Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    None.

    Job Requirements:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + Demonstrate four (4) years of experience in computer and associated equipment operation.

    + Associate’s Degree or direct relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree on a year for year basis. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

    + Exceptional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    + Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, be exceedingly well organized, flexible.

    + Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties under operating and deadline constraints.

    + Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.

    + Ability to multi-task.

    + Have the knowledge and skills to understand Local Area Networks (LAN).

    + IT Certifications a plus.

    + Fiber-optic cabling experience a plus.

    + Demonstrate competence through satisfactory performance as an Electronic Technician or IT Specialist.

    WORK SCHEDULE

    Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

    TRAVEL

    The expected travel time is less than 75%.

    DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

    Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Work is primarily performed indoors in a classroom environment but may also be performed in alternate maintenance / classroom facility. Employee may be exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead and vibration. Katmai strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory if applicable. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Position consists of standing for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling, to work with such hand tools, wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, pliers, and soldering irons.     COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE

    + Pay range: $30 hourly
