    Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Pipefitter to provide full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels and vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft and vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels and vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's Combatant Craft Division.

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Mid-Level Pipefitter plays a vital part in ensuring the operational readiness and efficiency of various watercraft by working with complex pipe and fluid-handling systems.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

    + Experience: Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in plumbing and pipefitting, acquired through formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and hands-on experience

    + Proficiency in the following areas:

    + Layout and cutting of pipe

    + Welding, brazing, and soldering

    + Threading pipe using stocks and dies

    + Bending pipe

    + Assembling fluid systems (e.g., water, gas, hydraulic fluid)

    + Testing completed installations to ensure quality and functionality

    + Education: High school diploma, trade/industrial school graduate, or GED equivalent (required)

    + Clearance: Must possess a current Secret Clearance

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

    + Related military experience

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Install and repair auxiliary fluid systems including:

    + Raw water and potable water systems

    + Engine exhaust and fuel systems

    + Lube oil and hydraulic systems

    + Air conditioning and air handling systems

    + Compressed air and heating systems

    + Work with a variety of pipe and pipefitting systems, including those for water, steam, and gas

    + Support maintenance and repair activities for all fluid-handling systems used in NSWCCD watercraft programs
