About Living Goods:
We’re on a mission to ensure no woman or child dies from easily preventable diseases. To bring high-quality healthcare door to door, we’ve partnered with African governments to ensure that community health workers (CHWs) have the tools, support, and knowledge they need to save lives. We focus on ensuring CHWs are treated as essential health workers who should be digitized, equipped, supervised, and compensated—so they can make the greatest impact—and harness community-level data to transform health systems. In 2023 we supported over 12,000 CHWs, impacting more than 6 million people across Kenya, Uganda, and Burkina Faso.
The Opportunity:
Living Goods (LG) seeks a highly motivated Associate – Foundations and Corporates, who is a strong team coordinator and systems-builder with an exceptional eye for detail, a strong sense of professional judgment and responsibility, and solid organization, writing and communications skills. You’ll manage, strengthen, and create critical systems and data related to grants and donor stewardship, improving the efficiency of our donor data and keeping the Foundation and Corporations sub-team organized and on track as we scale. You’ll support on proposal and report writing. And you’ll eagerly jump into strategic projects to help move us more quickly towards our revenue goals, including leading our sub-team’s efforts to research, identify, and connect with new funders. You may also have the opportunity to manage a small portfolio of donors, depending on performance and need.

Key Responsibilities:
Proposal and Reporting Support
+ Support the Business Development team by helping to collate information, pull together attachments, and create first drafts of new proposals and reports.
+ Play a role in liaising with other teams, including those in the field in East Africa to ensure we have the latest updates and information as we structure new proposals and update our donors.
+ Support the ongoing management of existing grant funding by writing reports and liaising with finance and program teams to ensure we are delivering to plan for our donors.
+ Be an excellent editor with an eye for detail to ensure that all of our written materials are polished and ready to present to funders.
New Donor Research and Pipeline Development
+ Conduct research and analysis on prospective donors to identify new funding opportunities.
+ Think creatively to help surface new methods for sourcing these opportunities. Help identify strategies to connect with and engage new donors.
+ Work with the Business Development Operations Associate to manage our prospective donor data and pipeline to ensure our records are up to date. Keep the team organized, informed, and on track as we pursue and pitch these new donors.
Revenue Stream Coordination and Portfolio Support
+ Be the critical engine of the Foundations & Corporates sub-team by keeping the team up to date on latest trends in the field, supporting the organization of team meetings, and helping to prepare the team for donor meetings, conferences, and events.
+ Help field donor requests and questions as needed, ensuring excellent customer service for all Foundation and Corporate donors.
Where appropriate, manage a portfolio of donors directly. With support from your direct supervisor, the right candidate will have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of donors and take on increasing responsibility and autonomy if appropriate.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, & Attributes:
+ Bachelor’s Degree.
+ 1 to 3 years of professional experience.
+ Exposure to fundraising/development and/or global health.
+ Experience working with donor management and/or CRM software.
+ Experience providing support to senior executives and working in collaboration across teams.
+ Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Customer service orientation.
+ Strong time management and prioritization skills.
+ Exceptional judgment, including a high level of discretion when handling confidential materials.
+ Passion for Living Goods’ mission and alignment with its values.
+ Willingness to quickly learn new systems and tools such as donor databases, and donor. prospecting/research tools, and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

The salary band for an Associate role within the Business Development team is $44,000 to $57,000, commensurate with experience.
