Job Summary and Qualifications
+ Demonstrates advanced clinical skills and ability to assess patients to determine appropriate level of care.
+ Identifies cultural considerations, gender identity and preferred language for patients and family
+ Demonstrates advance practice in assessments, and all other documentation timely and in compliance with requirements (as appropriate to scope)
+ Assesses environment and patient’s safety status and reports/responds to actual and potential safety issues or changes in the patient's condition
+ Identifies risk factors, screening criteria and interventions for patients with special precautions (e.g., suicide, homicide, falls, elopement)
+ Recognizes and acts upon unexpected assessment findings
+ Leads in ensuring a safe structured milieu with evidence based treatment modalities/resources
+ Maintains active and timely communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary team and continuum of care providers
+ Provides education and guidance regarding state commitment processes, abuse reporting requirements, duty to warn and guardianship processes.
+ Assesses, collaborates, coordinates and provides guidance on complex discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with the multidisciplinary team.
+ Develops and maintains a community resource guide including access to public assistance/alternatives.
+ Facilitates and participates in Community Education, Activities and Support Groups (as appropriate to scope)
+ Conducts post-discharge follow-up if indicated
+ Assists with Process and Quality Improvement initiatives
+ Delivers patient care based on accepted standards of care
+ Demonstrates appropriate application of age/developmental stage specific standards, policies and procedures, and guidelines in assessing and treating patients to ensure patient safety.
+ Maintains professionalism and uses good communication skills in interacting with peers, staff, patients, families and in resolving conflicts.
+ Demonstrates understanding of and ability to maintain clear professional boundaries with peers, patients and families.
+ Serves as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives, and other parties as appropriate regarding behavioral services
+ Performs utilization review as assigned
+ Participates in developing department goals/objectives and clinical programming
+ Reviews, coaches and assists with training of new staff/interns as assigned within approved practice and program guidelines.
+ Demonstrates knowledge and role in hospital codes
+ Follows all hospital and department policies and procedures
What qualifications you will need:
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Provisional License required
+ Masters Degree
