Job Summary and Qualifications

The Vice President Mission Integration provides leadership in promoting the mission, ministry and values of Mercy Hospital, a campus of Plantation Hospital. Mercy Hospital, owned and operated by HCA, is a Catholic hospital, recognized by the Archbishop of Miami. This position assists the board of trustees, the management team, physicians and staff in integrating Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Services into clinical practices. This position assists the organization in reaching out to the community and in advocating for the marginalized and economically needy.

The Vice President of Mission Integration supports the sponsoring Congregation the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chief Executive Officer and the Senior Management Team in carrying out the Mission of Mercy Hospital. The Vice President Mission Integration facilitates the knowledge and practice of the Mission/Core Values of Mercy Hospital for all engaged in service at Mercy Hospital and all associates, entities, employees, volunteers, physicians and trustees.

The Vice President Mission Integration is a member of the Hospital leadership team whose activities focus on ensuring mission integrity with the Hospital's Catholic identity in all organizational processes. The Vice President serves as a resource within the organization, providing education and raising value-based questions and concerns pertinent to organizational decision-making and direction-setting and serves on the Ethics and Compliance and other committees. The Vice President Mission Integration has supervisory responsibility for Pastoral Care Services.

What qualifications you will need:

+ Master Degree in either Theology, Spirituality or Education

+ 3 to 5 years of experience in hospital environment, governance or sponsorship is required

+ Certification in Ethics and Hospital Chaplaincy preferred

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. This program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. We are affiliated with HCA Florida Healthcare Division. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida. We serve as Miami-Dade County’s only Catholic hospital.
