A day in the life
As NLM software engineer, you will spend time working with network owners looking for opportunities to add more safety, speed and automation into their processes. Equipped with this knowledge, you will translate business requirements into technical requirements, architect and design new features to help our customers fulfill their business requirements. Scale always break software. At AWS we know this by heart and are always on a lookout of what will be our next scaling limitation. We then go back to the drawing board and evolve our software architecture to work for the future scale needs. Taking care of scale is a daily activity for us.
About the team
AWS Network Lifecycle Management (NLM) team owns software systems that empower network fabric owners to automate management of the complete network device lifecycle, from initial provisioning all the way through decommissioning, including periodic updates, upgrades and configuration changes. NLM is a vital team that ensures that AWS Network can grow and keep up with the ever growing customer demand for larger and more reliable networks. Every new network device, installed in AWS, is brough to life using our software. Every time network engineers enable new functionality or tweak existing features, the intended changes get deployed to the network safely by NLM software services. Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge-sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring, and thorough but kind design and code reviews. We care about your career growth and align projects that help our team members develop engineering expertise so you feel empowered to take on more ambiguous and complex responsibilities.
