**Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS)** is seeking a **Manager Programs 3** to join our Marine Systems Program Management team onsite in **Sunnyvale, CA** . The selected candidate will lead the development of a preliminary and detail design phase program plan and estimated cost (proposals), along with subsequent program leadership of the product design phases and the manufacture of the prototype and first production units. They will collaborate with Engineering and production which are collocated in Sunnyvale. The product line is the next generation of our core submarine power generation and propulsion turbine machinery business.
What You'll Get to Do:
The Program Manager directs all phases of an engineering development program from inception through completion, including developing machinery hardware, test platforms, prototype and production unit manufacturing and qualification and production testing. The program manager:
+ Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
+ Participates in the negotiation of statement of work, contract and contract changes.
+ Coordinates the preparation of capture strategies, proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
+ Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss schedule, and technical performance.
+ Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
+ Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer.
+ Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
+ Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from a technical and programmatic perspectives.
+ Initial primary focus is leading next generation submarine main power equipment and architecture studies to position NGC for a design and manufacturing leadership position on future classes of submarines.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in STEM Degree with 8 years' or a Master's degree in STEM Degree with 6 years of experience working on defense programs.
+ Experience in program planning/management of Technical Projects in a DoD Environment.
+ Experience presenting program/technical status to internal and customer executives.
+ Experience supporting proposal efforts.
+ Cost Account Management with knowledge Earned Value Management (EVM).
+ Experience leading high performance cross-functional teams.
+ Knowledge of various contract types (i.e CPFF, FFP, T&M, etc).
+ Demonstrated ability sustaining in demanding program execution environments.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Outstanding PC skills (including MS Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
+ US citizenship.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering; Master's Degree in Engineering.
+ Naval and/or Maritime experience.
+ Program and Business Management experience.
+ Experience working with suppliers.
+ Proposal development experience.
+ Marine Propulsion Design, Manufacturing and Test Experience.
+ Technical interface experience with technical customers and manufacturing suppliers.
Salary Range: $187,000.00 - $280,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
