    About The Position

    The Engineer performs engineering studies, design, and project management activities for new and existing power generation plant systems. This position has primary responsibility for supporting Missouri Regulated Generation Non-Nuclear plants with travel required.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Manage and/or support projects involving electrical and/or control systems equipment and related systems.

    • Develop engineering solutions, cost and schedule estimates, and preliminary designs associated with initial development and budgeting of projects. Upon project authorization, perform detailed design and work with drafting to complete drawings, prepare requisitions and specifications for equipment and construction contracts, analyze proposals, produce cost and schedule estimates, and assist or lead in the planning and coordination of projects. Lead the checkout and start-up of the new equipment.

    • Provide engineering assistance to energy centers and other departments within the company on activities requiring experience and expertise with electrical and/or control systems.

    • Interface with industry contacts and outside corporations, including consultants, contractors, and their employees.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Electrical or Mechanical preferred. PE License or PMP certificate also preferred. Relevant engineering experience preferred. Experience managing, supervising, or leading people preferred. Experience with low/medium/high voltage electrical equipment, including but not limited to switchgear, MCCs, motors, transformers, buses, etc., preferred Experience with protective relaying preferred.

    In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

    Must possess excellent analytical, communication, computer, human relations, and leadership skill. Travel between power plants and the EDPM and outside of the St. Louis area required. Subject to call-outs, nights, weekends and/or holiday work to support power plants.

     

    *Salary depends upon individual credentials, experience, and/or engineer technical path and position market pay level

    Additional Information

    This position may require travel to Ameren Energy Centers within Ameren’s service territory to support project work. May include day or overnight travel. Subject to occasional call-outs, nights, weekends, and/or holiday work to support energy centers.

     

    Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

    Compensation Range:

    $69,300.00 - $210,000.00

     

    * This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials.

     

    At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
