Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Lompoc, California. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial operations and ensure seamless accounting practices during a staff leave period. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong experience in accounting systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely transactions.

• Perform bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with accounting standards.

• Utilize SAP and Tyler Technologies Munis systems for efficient tracking and reporting of financial data.

• Oversee cash posting activities while maintaining precise records.

• Collaborate on CalPERS reporting to ensure compliance with state requirements.

• Support financial operations through detailed analysis and problem-solving.

• Assist in training and transitioning duties during staff leave.

• Maintain high standards of accuracy in all financial documentation and reporting. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or related financial roles.

• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management.

• Strong knowledge of accounting software such as SAP and Tyler Technologies Munis.

• Ability to prepare journal entries and perform cash posting accurately.

• Familiarity with CalPERS reporting requirements is highly preferred.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
