Our client in Escondido, CA is hiring a skilled Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and deliver top-notch service for both union and non-union employees. Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
+ Managing and overseeing the end-to-end payroll process to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll execution for all employees, including union staff.
+ Preparing and filing weekly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax payments, reconciliations, and union reports while maintaining compliance with IRS requirements and regulations.
+ Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, tax policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
+ Processing multi-state payroll, prevailing wage calculations, and certified payroll reporting while staying aligned with industry-specific compliance requirements.
+ Maintaining accurate payroll records, reconciling discrepancies, and overseeing deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
+ Collaborating with HR to enhance the employee experience, resolve payroll-related issues proactively, and facilitate compliance training for management.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
+ 5+ years of payroll management experience, preferably in the construction or related industries.
+ Proven experience processing payroll for both union (e.g., IBEW or similar unions) and non-union employees.
+ Strong knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, including payroll-related terms.
+ Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws, prevailing wage requirements, and certified payroll reporting.
+ Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
+ Strong ability to use modern payroll software and systems, including Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
