Description

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity in Saint Paul, Minnesota for a Senior Accountant. The role is within the financial services sector, and it involves general accounting, cash handling, and loan accounting for both retail and wholesale sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the processing and reconciliation of daily cash settlements for clients

• Administer reconciliation systems and provide assistance to team members on Bank balancing system

• Monitor and reconcile assigned accounts regularly, identifying and resolving any discrepancies

• Prepare and submit journal entries to correct items found during reconciliation

• Handle the creation and maintenance of wholesale loan records and commitment details in the loan accounting system

• Work on the creation of customer records and commitment details for retail loans

• Analyze and process monetary and maintenance transactions in line with contract parameters

• Participate in Bank and District-wide project teams, executing test plans and recommending process improvements

• Deal with client requests and issues, ensuring timely resolutions and effective communication

• Carry out asset pool related accounting functions as needed, including loan set-ups, workbook modifications, daily entries, maintenance and reporting.

Requirements

• Applicant must possess at least 5 years of detail oriented experience in a similar role.

• Expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required.

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is mandatory.

• Familiarity with General Ledger is a must.

• Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries is essential.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is crucial.

• Experience with Month End Close activities is required.

• SQL skills are a must-have.
