**Pay Range:** $45.59 - $74.19 per hour

Summary:
The Manager of the 3D Printing and Augmented Reality (AR) Lab is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and development of the 3D printing and AR services. This role ensures the efficient and effective production of anatomical models and other 3D printed tools for pre-surgical planning, education, research, and clinical applications as well as the use of AR for education and pre-surgical planning. The Manager will provide technical expertise, manage personnel, and collaborate with radiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to optimize the utilization of 3D printing technology and AR in patient care. The manager will supervise any ancillary staff involved in the generation of the data utilized by the lab. In addition, the candidate will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in 3D printing, preferably in a medical or research setting.
• Proficiency in medical image processing software (e.g., Mimics, 3D Slicer, Materialise) and 3D modeling software (e.g., Meshmixer, Blender, SolidWorks).
• Extensive knowledge of 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, etc.) and materials.
• Strong understanding of medical imaging modalities (CT, MRI, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with regulatory compliance in a medical environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a hospital or clinical environment.
• Certification in 3D printing or related field.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Responsibilities:
• 3D Printing & AR Application Development & Innovation: Lead research, development, and implementation of AR applications for medical imaging; evaluate new technologies; define technical standards; collaborate with medical professionals to identify needs and create solutions; oversee 3D model design and visualization; ensure accuracy and reliability; troubleshoot technical issues.
• 3D Printing &AR Lab Management & Operations: Oversee daily lab operations (scheduling, materials, maintenance, QC); develop and implement SOPs; maintain project records; manage lab resources (equipment, software, consumables); ensure a safe and organized lab environment.
• 3D Model Production & Technical Expertise: Convert medical images to 3D printable models; optimize models for clinical use; operate and maintain 3D printers; troubleshoot technical issues; stay updated on 3D printing advancements.
• Clinical Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand needs and provide support; communicate model specifications and timelines; train users on 3D printed models; participate in team meetings; liaise with vendors.
• Team Leadership & Management: Supervise and mentor lab personnel; conduct performance reviews; develop training programs; manage schedules and task assignments; track project progress and budgets; document project outcomes.
• Research & Development: Participate in 3D printing and AR research; evaluate new technologies and materials; contribute to innovative solutions for patient care.
• Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., HIPAA); participate in quality assurance initiatives; maintain QC documentation.
