Description We are looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join our dynamic team in Encino, California. This role involves overseeing financial statement preparation and reviews, mentoring less experienced staff, and managing audit engagements from start to finish. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in public accounting, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review compiled, reviewed, and audited financial statements, primarily for real estate clients.
• Lead and mentor less experienced team members, providing training on audit procedures, accounting principles, and software tools.
• Manage audit engagements, including planning, execution, and completion, while ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
• Conduct peer reviews to maintain high-quality standards within the firm.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering exceptional service and support.
• Review and adjust client bookkeeping as needed, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Utilize advanced proficiency in tools such as QuickBooks, Engagement, Workstream, and Office 365 for efficient management and reporting.
• Prepare income tax basis financial statements and personal financials, applying critical analysis and auditing expertise.
• Apply knowledge of real estate and partnership taxation to provide informed recommendations and solutions. Requirements
• Must live in California, CPA designation is required.
• A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with a medium-sized local or regional firm.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a controller or in a controllership role, particularly in real estate or closely-held business environments.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Engagement, Workstream, and Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Knowledge of taxation principles for real estate entities and partnerships.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a hands-on and proactive approach.
• Commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards and delivering results with integrity.
