Job Title: Tax Senior Associate
We are seeking an experienced Tax Senior Associate to join our team. In this role, you will handle complex tax preparation and compliance tasks for various entities and individuals, ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to strategic tax planning efforts while collaborating closely with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for partnerships, S-corporations, and individual business owners.
• Conduct detailed research and compliance analysis to address state and local tax reporting requirements.
• Draft responses and correspondence to resolve inquiries or notices from tax authorities.
• Utilize accounting software to efficiently prepare tax returns and projections, including quarterly estimates and extensions.
• Evaluate state tax positions to identify opportunities for tax efficiencies, such as composite tax elections.
• Develop tailored tax minimization strategies based on specific circumstances.
• Monitor filing and payment deadlines to ensure timely compliance with all tax obligations.
• Work closely with team members to maintain organized tracking of tax-related activities and deliverables.
• Assist in analyzing financial data to support accurate and strategic tax decisions.
• Identify areas for process improvement to enhance overall tax reporting and compliance procedures.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance within a public accounting environment.
• Proficiency in using accounting and tax software systems such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CaseWare, and IntelliConnect.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Experience with entity formation and related tax implications.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and data for tax purposes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for drafting responses and collaborating with clients.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
