Description

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our clients team in Lafayette, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent position offering the opportunity to grow within the organization. The ideal candidate will handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and supporting various accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Process high volumes of accounts payable, managing 150+ invoices weekly with precision and attention to detail.

• Oversee vendor management, including maintaining strong relationships and ensuring timely payments.

• Support accounts receivable operations, including construction-specific invoicing such as time and materials, progress billing, and lien management.

• Perform job costing by tracking subcontractors, materials, vendors, and coding differences.

• Monitor credit memos, follow up with vendors, and maintain accurate tracking spreadsheets.

• Occasionally visit the bank to deposit checks, approximately 1-2 times per month.

• Post job costing receipts and ensure accurate financial documentation.

• Utilize QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping tasks and prepare for integration with BuilderTrend.

• Export reports and complete tasks using intermediate Excel skills, such as filtering data and creating basic reports.

Requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with its features.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Prior experience in the construction industry and familiarity with construction-specific accounting, such as progress billing and lien management.

• Ability to manage high volumes of invoices and credit memos efficiently.

• Intermediate Excel skills, including exporting and organizing data.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills for vendor management and team collaboration.
