Description:

Manage and oversee all accounting functions within a company with government contracts and Software as a Service products. Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all accounting related departments. Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, general & entity accounting, cost accounting. Review and analyze contract terms to ensure accurate accounting, financial reporting, and billing by project. Ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal government requirements related to accounting, timekeeping, and travel & expense policies. Interface with external accounting firms for tax and audit purposes and governmental agencies such as DCAA and DCMA. Lead and manage the Finance & Accounting team, including staff selection, training, and development. Improve and issue timely monthly financial records and reports for the Operations Director.

The position serves as the primary contact for external auditors, responding to inquiries and supporting the audit process. Responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. Experience in cost accounting, forecasting, tax accounting and financial analysis required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. Experience with Deltek and DCAA requirements and an understanding of FAR, DFARS, and CAS, as well as other relevant regulations required. Education: Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related major with an emphasis in accounting.

Requirements:

+ 5+ years of experience in the accounting and finance sector

+ Proven ability to manage multiple people in a high-stress, fast-paced environment

+ Demonstrated experience with Deltek Costpoint

+ Strong understanding of GAAP, DCAA, and financial reporting requirements, combined with above-average

technical skills

+ 3+ years of experience managing the accounting and finance process

+ 3+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or with higher-level responsibilities

+ 3+ years of experience working as a controller for a government contractor or service provider

+ In-depth working knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, and banking processes

+ Demonstrated credibility, ethical conduct, full disclosure, and a clean financial history

+ Ability to handle and manage payroll, including the mental challenges associated with this responsibility

+ Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work

+ Proven accountability for specific performance outcomes

+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate recommendations clearly and concisely

+ Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining control and organization

+ Demonstrated strong work ethic

+ Ability to arrange for audits of the company’s accounts

+ Ability to prepare reports required by regulatory agencies

+ Proven experience coordinating the month-end and year-end closing processes

+ Skilled in reviewing company financial statements for accuracy and clarity

+ Experience participating in a variety of special projects and compiling specialized reports

+ Ability to communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and franchisees in a courteous and professional manner

+ Consistent adherence to all regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions

College Degrees must come from a school that is accredited in the discipline of the degree to be considered.
