Civil Engineer Professional Associate

Focus on the delivery and be responsible for the design of water/wastewater pipelines, pump stations and other conveyance related projects including a range of project sizes. Design includes but not limited to, planning, preliminary design, technical writing, and construction drawing and specification production, and services during construction. Deliver challenging projects while serving existing clients and developing new clients. Develop conceptual and final design drawings and specification packages for municipal, agricultural, and other water agencies. Lead utility research and field investigations. Conduct alternatives analyses and route studies to define work in preliminary phases. Perform hydraulic and design calculations to support design development. Write technical memorandums and basis of design reports to convey design criteria, alternatives analyses, and concepts to clients and stakeholders. Review construction documents and aid in services during construction. Contribute to client communications, presentations, and deliverables. Lead tasks on projects underneath a project manager/design manager. Communicate effectively internally and externally. Develop and maintain mentor and mentee relationships with staff within the conveyance design team. Design water and wastewater pipelines, permanent chambers, tunnels, raw water intakes, and conveyance systems. Utilize experience with Design-Bid-Build Design-Build, CMAR/CMGC and/or EPC Projects.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 7 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation.
SPECIFIC SKILLS: Expertise/ knowledge of: Delivering multiple, large water or wastewater conveyance projects. Pressure and non-pressurized pipe design, including familiarity with a wide range of pipe materials and pipe material selection. Trenchless pipeline design and construction experience, including coordination between design disciplines. Computer Aided Drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation V8i, particularly as it relates to pipeline design, including but not limited to Microstation InRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D Pipe Pressure Networks. Hydraulic Modeling using Infoworks ICM. In-field construction inspector experience on a wide variety of projects, including conveyance pipelines.
