We are seeking a motivated and talented **_Area Leader_** to lead our growing Southeast Area team. Our Southeast Area focuses on natural resources and environmental planning, land management, water resources and wetland delineation and assessment, permitting including listed species permitting and avian protection planning, environmental assessment and remediation, for client in industrial, power, water, and government end markets. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Area Leader will be instrumental in growing our Southeast market through people development, sustainability, and client engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Lead with empathy, strong communication, and a people-focused approach to achieve successful results for the Southeast Area.
+ Support and shape the company’s people-focused culture by promoting inclusivity, diversity, and collaboration by reinforcing positive workplace values and encouraging teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
+ Demonstrates a bias for action leading to organic and acquisitive growth opportunities for the Southeast, supporting and seeking innovation through technology to provide forward thinking solutions to clients.
+ Accountable for key performance indicators for the Area which include attrition, sales, revenues, productivity, margin, and day sales outstanding.
+ Leads by example on commitment to our people, clients, and sustainability with attention to health and safety and quality.
+ Develops and delivers Business Plan and yearly budget in alignment with the company’s goals and growth objectives tailored to suit the Southeast market from business development and talent perspective, leading with confidence to make appropriate business decisions to position the Southeast for short and long-term success.
+ Accountable for driving business development efforts in coordination with the Southeast Area Client Development Leader, National Market Leads, Key Account Leaders, to achieve sales targets. Explores new business opportunities and clients with assistance and direction from the Chief Strategy Officer.
+ Collaborates with other Areas to promote resource sharing and cross selling to expand business for the company with a one-company mindset.
+ Monitors overall project portfolio in coordination with the Area Project Delivery Leader, ensuring successful delivery of projects to achieve margin goals and client satisfaction in alignment with contractual terms.
+ Evaluates operational results and develops plans to address risks and maximize opportunities for the Area.
+ Communicates and coordinates regularly with the COO, and other business leaders as needed.
+ Create an environment where employees feel valued, motivated, and engaged by fostering open communication channels and implementing initiatives that enhance employee well-being.
+ Coordinate and lead change efforts within the area, including integration efforts of acquired firms.
+ Monitors, reviews, and promotes comprehensive pricing, estimating and furthering strategies for proposed projects.
+ Participates in professional and community organizations and activities to maintain a Verdantas presence and promote its’ brand in the community.
+ Performs the responsibilities of Senior Project Manager as required.
+ Coordinate and communicate with the Human Resource Department, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Minimum four-year (accredited) college degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
+ Demonstrated experience leading large successful business units in Environmental and/or Engineering consulting.
+ Excellent people skills.
+ Demonstrated operational experience and managing a P&L.
+ Demonstrated success in project and client management.
+ Marketing/business development capabilities.
+ Proven ability to build strong partnerships and relationships internally & externally.
+ The ability to adapt and lead through change maintaining a high level of attention to detail and integrity.
