Duties Description This internship will support NYSIF’s Information Security Office with respect to one or more of the following areas:• Support the team in information security, risk assessments, and report writing.• Assist with the creation of run books and documentation.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective implementation of security requirements.• Utilize security tools to assist in monitoring and analyzing security events and incidents.• Support Vulnerability Management teams in tracking and reporting of system vulnerabilities.#li-dni
Minimum Qualifications Must be a permanent NYS resident and/or actively enrolled in a NYS college or university. Be actively enrolled in a college, university, or graduate program. Completed at least 1 year at a degree-granting college/university. (Part-time students may qualify) or a currently enrolled/accepted into a graduate program.• Must be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program leading to a degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or similar area.• Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, or the letter grade equivalent.• Analytical and problem-solving skills.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Familiar with security best practices.• Familiar with security frameworks such as NIST, and ISO• Familiar with Cloud security in various including email, cloud storge, and browsing.• Strong computer skills including scripting, • Strong understanding of networking • Background in Information Security, or Cybersecurity• Familiarity with the CIA Triad• Must be able to commit to part-time summer (up to 37.5 hours a week)Preferred Qualifications/Skills:• Prefer either graduate student or junior or senior college student enrolled in a program leading to a degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or similar area.• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, or the letter grade equivalent.• Must be able to commit to part-time summer (up to 37.5 hours a week)• Strong interest in Information Security/Cybersecurity
