A third optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan is also available. – Clickhereto learn more. * Public Service Loan Forgiveness- Employment with the State of Montana may qualify you to receive loan forgiveness- click hereto learn more! * Career progression, training opportunities and room for professional growth. * State employee discounts at various businesses across the state. *This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective on July 1, 2025 and July 1, 2026.* *This position may be covered by a Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association (VEBA) *JOB DUTIES:* As a Outreach & Education Specialist, you will: * Develop and implement outreach strategies that support the organization's mission, goals, and objectives. * Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, community organizations, and other relevant parties. * Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates to both internal and external audiences. * Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and legal regulations. * Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and networking events to represent the organization and stay current on industry trends, best practices and opportunities for growth. * Develop and implement comprehensive safety and health education programs to promote awareness, prevent injuries, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for employees, clients, and the community. * Continuously evaluate and improve event planning and management processes, staying current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and deliver exceptional event experiences. * Manage all aspects of event coordination, including venue selection, contract negotiation, budget development, event promotion, registration, presentations, logistics, and post-event evaluations. * Collaborate with internal teams to create high-quality, targeted content that supports the organization's goals and objectives. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities: Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time): * Communications and public relations. * Event planning and management processes. * Website content management. * Safety and health education programs. Ability to: * Identify, develop, and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * Manage work schedule with minimal oversight. * Work individually and as part of a team. * Work with community members and other stakeholders to identify necessary programs and services. * Identify, suggest, or implement improvements to programs and services. * Review, interpret and monitor compliance to guidelines, laws and regulations. * Work with subject matter experts to develop educational trainings for our stakeholders. * Prepare and communicate metrics for all outreach activities. * Manage all aspects of event coordination. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Candidates with a strong mix of the attributes listed in the above Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are desired. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through experience, formal education (including certificates, credentials, or degree-based programs), or a combination of both.
