*Position Summary:*
MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a *Senior Research Nurse* to support clinical research activities within our Leukemia service. This role plays a critical part in the coordination and execution of complex clinical trials involving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, cell therapy, and investigational agents.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
* *Required:* At least *one year of research nursing experience*.
* *Preferred:* Background in *Leukemia, Stem Cell Transplant, or ICU settings*.
* Experience at *MD Anderson* is highly desirable.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Clinical Trial Operations: *
* Lead the *startup, coordination, and execution* of clinical protocols, ensuring compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines.
* Collaborate with investigators and sponsors to develop treatment plans, prepare protocol-related orders, and assist with protocol amendments and submissions.
* Provide protocol-specific training to internal teams and external departments as needed.
* Ensure timely communication with sponsors, including patient updates and data queries.
* Coordinate all aspects of *multi-site trials* and facilitate sponsor visits and audits.
*Patient Management & Education: *
* Serve as a *liaison between patients and the study team*, providing education, scheduling support, and real-time updates.
* Assess patient eligibility through chart review and interviews.
* Ensure proper *informed consent* and maintain ongoing communication with study participants.
* Monitor patient status throughout the trial and address any adverse events or protocol deviations in collaboration with the clinical team.
*Data & Compliance Oversight: *
* Ensure timely and accurate *data entry* into databases and case report forms.
* Support documentation for *FDA reporting* and internal regulatory groups.
* Track billing compliance through *OneConnect* and complete monthly reconciliation of patient charges.
* Assist in the development of reports, safety summaries, and manuscripts related to study data.
*Team Leadership & Mentoring: *
* Assist with the *training and orientation* of new research staff, assessing learning needs and proposing improvements to training programs.
* Monitor *quality assurance* by reviewing documentation and data accuracy across studies.
* Contribute to ongoing *process improvement initiatives* to enhance clinical research operations.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Registered Nurse with *active Texas licensure*.
* Clinical research experience, preferably in an academic or oncology setting.
* Proficiency in *Microsoft Office*, electronic medical records, and data systems.
* Strong organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Education
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Experience
Two years of registered nurse experience.
Licensure/Certification
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
