Duties: The Office of Graduate Admissions at the State University of New York at New Paltz invites candidates for the position of Graduate Support Specialist who will report to the Director of Graduate Admission.
Counselor Role/Duties:� Be knowledgeable about application, workflow process, program details and admission requirements� Monitor the flow of admissions applications within the CRM, recommend process improvements, assist with annual cycle preparation, and ensure workflow is effective and efficient� Conduct one-on-one virtual and in-person information sessions meeting with prospective students in person and online� Assist Program Coordinators with program specific information sessions presenting on application process and guiding them on next steps� Answer phone calls and emails from prospective students and applicants and provide guidance� Monitor student’s progress throughout the application process and communicate next steps and missing documents� Update applications with any new or missing information� Coordinate with the program coordinators regarding application volume and decision-making timeline� Build and maintain queries and reports to assess efficient and effective operations� Release decision and decision letters to applicants, including Conditional Acceptance criteria, if appropriate� Provide strategic and operational support to the Director of Graduate Admissions in managing day-to-day departmental activities.� Troubleshoot Slate and application issues, submit ITS tickets.� Recruitment, if needed� General Office Duties
Qualifications: Required:� Bachelor’s degree� 1-2 years of applicable job experience in university admissions or equivalent� Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one� Ability to work evenings and some weekends� Ability to work within a dynamic environment and proven competence in managing multiple tasks and competing priorities� Attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred:
• Master’s Degree preferred� 1 year of Graduate Admissions experience� Slate experience
