    Job Title: Occupational Health Specialist

    Hours Per Week: 40 scheduled weekly hours

     

    Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 8:00 am -4:30 pm

     

    SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Occupational Health Manager, the Occupational Health Specialist will assist with health information collection and review for new/established employees, volunteers, students and contract personnel as well as the administration of required immunizations, drug screens or lab work across the health system.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Health assessment, information collection and review, immunization administration, phlebotomy and urine drug screening

    + Event investigation, report development,

    + Data entry, health file development and maintenance

    + Implementation of policies, special projects

    + Comfortable working knowledge with computer systems, inputting data, spreadsheets

    + Critical thinking and strong organizational skills.

    + Excellent oral/written communication skills.

    + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while interacting effectively with other members of a diverse team.

    + Preferred: knowledge of Workers Compensation, FMLA, Disability and OSHA.

    + Ability to assess a person’s fitness to perform duties as defined in the job description

    + Ability to handle multiple concurrent situations.

    + Strong time management skills, punctuality and dependability

    + Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for variable periods of time.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + New York State Registered Nurse license

    + Current BLS certification

    + Minimum 3 years’ acute care experience as a Registered Nurse

    •PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program

    + National certification (COHN)

    + Previous experience in a physician office or occupational health setting in a healthcare organization.

    + Immunization administration experience

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

    $71,000.00 - $95,000.00

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
