Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech

Schedule: 8 hours, 7a-3:30p
SUMMARY: The Staffing Scheduler/Sterile Processing Tech develops, implements and monitors the nursing schedules and payroll entry for Gouverneur Hospital. Applies NYS laws and regulations, hospital human resources policies, and terms/conditions of collective bargaining agreements to decisions related to staffing and scheduling. RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile instrumentation to the OR and other areas throughout the hospital.
+ Required to maintain and control both sterile and non-sterile supplies, and identify/remedy equipment and process failures and hazards while maintaining appropriate and complete records.
+ Works independently making independent decisions regarding work
+ Schedules nursing staff, meeting deadlines for review and posting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School Diploma
+ Certification by the Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST)
+ BLS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Certified Nurse Aide

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:
$21.36 - $30.51
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
