The opportunity:

The Sr. IT Strategic Operations Director, reporting to the Group Chief Information Security Officer, will play a pivotal role in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Cybersecurity department. This individual will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CISO, facilitating communication, managing priorities, and ensuring the successful execution of key initiatives. The Sr. IT Strategic Operations Director will be responsible for coordinating projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and supporting the overall strategic objectives of the IT organization. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to grow and develop their IT leadership, strategy and transformation skills in the Cybersecurity function, for career development in leadership roles either in IT or in the wider Smurfit Westrock organization.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

* Strategic Support: Support the CISO to develop and implement IT strategies that align with the company\u2019s overall business objectives. Assist in prioritizing initiatives and managing resource allocation.

* Cybersecurity Operations: Collaborate with Cybersecurity Leadership team to drive and achieve high levels of service in a cost-effective manner.

* Program Management: Oversee key IT projects and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals. Utilize project management methodologies to track progress and report on outcomes.

* Change Management: Facilitate the IT communication and change management strategies to ensure consistent, clear, and effective messaging around IT initiatives, projects, and priorities to promote alignment and engagement within the organization.

* Meeting Management: Prepare agendas, materials, and presentations for CISO meetings. Capture and follow up on action items to ensure accountability and progress on key initiatives.

* Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Cybersecurity organization. Implement best practices and optimize workflows to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

* Team Development: Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Cybersecurity community.

* Reporting & Metrics: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track Cybersecurity performance. Prepare regular reports for the CIO, executive leadership, and Board of Directors on progress against strategic objectives.

What you need to succeed:

* Bachelor\u2019s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field; master\u2019s degree preferred.

* 7+ years of experience in operational leadership, (lean) project management, strategic planning or transformation roles, demonstrating progressive accountability and responsibility over time.

* Understanding strategy, governance, and operations in a company context.

* Proven ability to manage projects and drive organizational change.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels of the organization.

* High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

* Ability to travel internationally.
