Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a driven and detail-oriented **Senior Compliance & Employee Engagement Engineer** to lead and manage critical regulatory compliance programs and employee engagement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with an HR background (such as an HR Generalist) seeking to expand their career into the HSE space, with a strong emphasis on program ownership and people-focused improvements.
You will be primarily responsible for the **FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program** and the **DOT CDL Drug and Alcohol Program** , while supporting cross-functional health, safety, and environmental projects that improve our **Voice of the Employee** initiatives.
This position can be based at any Honeywell Aerospace site in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for both the FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program and the DOT CDL Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, ensuring full regulatory compliance and oversight.
+ Lead the Maricopa County Trip Reduction Program, promoting sustainable commuting and reporting compliance.
+ Support and lead projects that drive employee engagement and experience under HSE Voice of the Employee programs.
+ Assist with HSE learning and training programs across the site to improve awareness, compliance, and safety culture.
+ Participate in the headquarters pre-audit team, helping sites prepare for corporate HSE audits.
+ Conduct weekly area Gemba walks, identifying opportunities for process improvements and reinforcing safety expectations.
+ Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions in collaboration with operations and safety teams.
+ Support risk assessments, contractor safety oversight, and digital auditing solutions using Smartsheet or similar platforms.
+ Contribute to other site-wide HSE activities and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
Due to compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a US Person, which is defined as, US citizen, a US permanent resident, or have protected status in the US under asylum or refugee status.
COMPENSATION
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,000-$117,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE:
+ 3+ years of experience in compliance, HR, or safety-related roles with strong program ownership responsibilities.
+ Knowledge of FAA and DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing regulations or ability to rapidly gain and apply this knowledge.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to work across departments.
WE VALUE:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
+ Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
+ Prior experience as an HR Generalist with exposure to compliance or employee programs.
+ Familiarity with HSE regulations, learning platforms, and digital tools such as Smartsheet.
+ Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities independently.
+ Experience engaging with both hourly and salaried employees to drive cultural and behavioral change.
