    The Faculty Assistant serves on a team o f fac ulty as sistants w ho s upport t he t eaching an d s cholarly re sponsibilities of full -time la w fac ulty members. Each as sistant p rovides p rofessional support t o t en o r m ore as signed f aculty. Support s ervices may i nclude assisting fac ulty w ith t he e ntire ran ge o f their Georgetown t eaching re sponsibilities, c ommittee as signments, an d scholarly w ork.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    + Assist with the preparation of class materials and communications – including class rosters, photo seating charts, syllabi, and presentation slides.

    + Assist with Canvas tasks including: sending announcements, creating modules, creating appointment slots for office hours, and posting slides.

    + Perform other duties as assigned to ensure excellent faculty support operations

     

    Work Interactions

     

    Faculty as sistants are expected t o c ollaborate an d c ommunicate effectively with all members of the L aw C enter community ( faculty, students, and s taff), vendors, v isitors, and t he p ublic i n order t o p r ovide c omprehensive, high - level support to L aw C enter F aculty. The p erson i n this p osition i s a member of t he O ffice o f F aculty S upport a n d receives d irect oversight f rom t he Directo r of Faculty Support. A s uccessful faculty as sistant is p roactive, s trategic, an d organized so that they are able to balance a wide-range of responsibilities in the support of their assigned faculty.

    Requirements and Q ualifications

    + A High School Diploma; ​ A bachelor’s degree an d p revious e xperience in h ighe r education or a law office e nvironment preferred

    + At least 2-4 years prior experience in administrative support and/or customer service roles

    + Experience with the practical application of routine office practices and techniques

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with a wide range of individuals

    + Past experience with and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe

    + Must possess the ability to gain proficiency with other office and campus technologies (including GMS/Workday, Concur, and Canvas)

    Pay Range:

    The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

    $19.20 - $28.70

     

    Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
