General Description

ASRC seeks a part-time RF Technician (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, NMR, Core) to maintain critical water-cooling systems for NMR cryoprobes. The technician will report to the NMR Facility Director.
Other Duties
+ Perform twice-daily maintenance of water filtration systems (changing filters, cleaning strainers)
+ Assist in maintaining chillers: clean condensers and refill water reservoirs
+ Ensure optimal performance of cooling systems to support NMR operations
+ Help with nitrogen fills
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills:
+ Associates Degree
+ Experience around labs
+ Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
+ Ability to work split shifts (2 hours in the morning + 2 hours in the afternoon)
+ Plumbing experience (preferred but not mandatory)
+ Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance
Logistics & Compensation:
+ Schedule: 2-4 hours/day (flexible timing, likely early morning and late afternoon)
+ Pay: $30/hour ($120/day -maximum)
+ Duration: 3 months
+ Location: On-site at ASRC (must be available for short-notice visits) – 85 Saint Nicholas Terrace, G444. New York, NY

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) is a nonprofit educational corporation founded in 1963 to provide post-award fiscal and administrative support for CUNY’s research and sponsored programs. These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
