Job Description
The Event Sales Manager is tasked with selling and managing a spacious event venue that accommodates up to 500 guests. This venue features an atrium ideal for weddings, social celebrations, corporate events, multiple conference rooms, and two newly renovated lobbies perfect for cocktail and pre-reception events. The individual will design a strategic plan to drive revenue while ensuring a hospitality-focused experience for clients. Responsibilities include conducting client tours, managing vendor contracts, and upholding the venue's reputation through successful event execution.
Responsibilities
+ Develop an annual marketing plan for the venue based on strategic goals.
+ Create and manage a marketing budget to support the plan.
+ Effectively manage digital media programs, including social media and web aggregators.
+ Create external marketing messaging and collateral to attract new business.
+ Develop and execute a sales plan to drive revenue through various types of events.
+ Ensure compliance with brand standards while maintaining property brand and analyzing its market position.
+ Cultivate and maintain networking relationships with local tourism bureaus, destination management firms, preferred partners, and business leaders.
+ Manage inquiries, tours, reservations, contract negotiations, and payments, requiring availability during evenings and weekends.
+ Oversee vendor relationships, agreements, certificates of insurance, commission reports, and preferred status.
+ Coordinate event logistics with onsite staff, including property management, janitorial, security, and parking.
+ Act as the day-of-event manager, requiring availability during evenings and weekends.
+ Coordinate city permits as needed.
+ Maintain venue technology and amenities.
+ Oversee the financial performance of the venue, managing the operating budget and sales forecasting.
+ Manage and develop programs to achieve high guest satisfaction.
+ Provide leadership and mentorship to the Event Specialist.
+ Manage staff to meet client goals.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
+ 3-5 years of direct hotel/catering/event sales and marketing experience in the hospitality industry.
+ 7 years of experience for event planners.
+ Expert-level knowledge of the local area, including event venues, catering, event production, and market trends.
Work Environment
The work environment involves managing a vibrant and spacious event venue. The role requires availability during evenings and weekends for event management. The position involves interaction with a diverse clientele and requires efficient use of digital technology and marketing tool
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $40.00/hr.
