Job Title: HSE Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Specialist to lead safety and environmental compliance across our Southfield and Wixom automotive manufacturing facilities. This role requires a hands-on leader who is highly visible on the production floor and ready to make an immediate impact. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to ISO and OSHA standards while fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.
Responsibilities
+ Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with environmental and occupational health standards.
+ Maintain and audit the ISO systems; lead certification readiness efforts.
+ Oversee OSHA compliance, conduct incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
+ Drive continuous improvement through safety programs, risk assessments, and employee engagement.
+ Manage environmental programs including waste, emissions, and chemical handling.
+ Deliver training and coaching on HSE practices across all levels of the organization.
+ Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics and regulatory compliance.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
+ 5+ years of HSE experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive.
+ Strong knowledge of ISO and OSHA regulations.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certifications such as CSP or ISO Lead Auditor are a plus.
Work Environment
This role involves working between the Southfield location (3-4 days per week) and the Wixom location (1-2 days per week). The individual must be accessible on the production floor, visible to all employees, and capable of ensuring all environmental compliances are followed throughout the facility.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $48.07/hr.
