Role Overview

We're seeking an experienced **Production Manager** to produce culturally rich audio content that brings our learning system to life. In addition to overseeing recording, production, and delivery of audio lessons used in our mobile app, the successful candidate will oversee audio QA and audio bug triage and correction and manage digital asset archives.

Key Responsibilities

+ Manage the audio production lifecycle for multiple language pairs, ensuring delivery on time and within budget,

+ Source, audition, and direct native speaker voice talent across global markets,

+ Oversee recording (in-house or 3rd party / remote), to ensure clarity, tone, naturalness, and adherence to the recording script,

+ Manage engineering workflow, along with in-house studio facility and equipment,

+ Oversee post-production (editing, mastering) to ensure quality and consistency in file formatting and pacing,

+ QA all deliverables to ensure they meet technical and artistic standards,

+ Collaborate on content QA process with overall responsibility for audio triaging, fixing and publishing audio content bugs,

+ Manage app asset repository ensuring consistent naming conventions, version control, and metadata tagging,

+ Work with the Content Project Manager to create and track production schedules and deliverables,

+ Keep up with industry standards, trends, and emerging tools in audio production.

Skills & Qualifications

+ 5+ years of experience in audio production, preferably in the audiobook or spoken-word space,

+ Familiarity with Pro Tools or other applications used for recording, editing, mixing and producing audio files,

+ A high level of comfort with foreign languages including sensitivity to accents, pronunciation, pacing, and cross-cultural nuance,

+ Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects in multiple languages simultaneously,

+ Experience working with multilingual voice talent and an understanding of vocal performance techniques

+ Excellent critical listening skills and attention to detail

+ Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

+ Bachelor’s degree in Audio Production, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
