QC Chemist
Job Description
The QC Chemist will play a critical role in executing validation and optimization efforts within our QC lab. This position involves performing and documenting validation methods for both gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (LC) instrumentation in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good documentation practices (GDPs), while adhering to the quality management system (QMS). Training on additional techniques such as Karl Fischer (KF) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICPMS) will be provided if needed.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare samples and execute validation methods for existing compounds, focusing on LC and GC analysis.
+ Optimize existing methods where possible to improve efficiency and accuracy.
+ Capture and document all test method data in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
+ Prepare technical reports consistent with QMS requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in chemistry, particularly in gas chromatography and liquid chromatography.
+ Ability to articulate examples of performing LC, including sample preparation and instrument use.
+ Understanding of basic instrument troubleshooting.
+ Sound understanding of validation parameters.
+ Experience working in a life sciences industry, specifically within a cGMP/FDA regulated facility.
+ Minimum of 2 years experience in relevant capabilities.
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
+ Experience in running sample analysis via GC and documenting per GDPs.
+ Comfortable working with a respirator, including Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
Work Environment
This position is onsite and requires travel between facilities in Madison and Verona, WI, approximately 10 miles apart. The work environment is fast-paced with changing priorities, requiring flexibility in moving between projects and facilities as needed. The team works with potent compounds and hazardous chemicals, ensuring a dynamic and highly regulated laboratory setting
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
