    Right of Way Agent

     

    The Right of Way Agent plays a crucial role in project coordination, easement acquisition, title research, and damage negotiation, while also fostering strong customer relationships. This position involves supporting critical engineering and sciences initiatives that enhance service delivery on a global scale.

    Responsibilities

    + Acquire land, land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other documents essential for the construction, operation, and maintenance of electric transmission lines and/or distribution facilities.

    + Prepare, maintain, and update property owners' files, right of way maps, records, drawings, exhibits, and progress reports.

    + Serve as an expert witness and collaborate with legal counsel and project management in selecting witnesses and commissioners for condemnation or other court actions.

    + Conduct complex negotiations with landowners or their representatives for acquiring rights related to the construction, reconstruction, enlargement, or maintenance of electric transmission and/or distribution facilities.

    + Resolve complex damage claims with landowners or their representatives concerning property damage incurred during the construction, reconstruction, enlargement, maintenance, or removal of transmission and/or distribution facilities.

    + Research courthouse and other records to ascertain current property ownership and the extent of interests involved.

    + Stay informed about real estate values and recognized real estate appraisal practices; provide guidance in establishing fair market value ranges for land and land rights acquisition.

    + Draft and prepare documents such as rights of entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, permits, and options to purchase, utilizing the Transmission document database (TransROW).

    + Participate in public meetings and informational hearings as necessary.

    + Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as required, maintaining close communication with personnel.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.92 - $28.85/hr.
