Job Title: Microbiology TechnicianJob Description

An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Microbiology Technician with 1-2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The role involves working primarily in the micro lab, with cross-training opportunities in other departments. The technician will engage in various testing and monitoring activities, while adhering to safety and quality protocols.

Responsibilities

+ Perform lab work including LAL, Environmental Monitoring, Bioburden, sterility testing, and chemistry analysis according to written procedures.

+ Conduct sample collection and processing, including viable air, surface swabbing, and personnel gear swabbing.

+ Document work according to cGMP/cGLP requirements.

+ Assist in preparing and reviewing laboratory procedures and related documents.

+ Participate in Quality Control activities to support manufacturing and pharmacy operations.

+ Handle shipping and receiving activities related to processing customer orders and shipments.

+ Collaborate with other departments to address laboratory-related issues and concerns.

+ Evaluate corrective and preventive actions to ensure ongoing control of laboratory concerns.

+ Ensure adequate stocking and ordering of supplies and materials used in laboratory methods.

+ Assist in maintenance, calibration, and qualification of laboratory equipment.

+ Perform administrative duties such as filing, typing letters, and customer follow-up.

+ Ensure customer needs are satisfied and assist wherever needed.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in Environmental Monitoring, Sterility Testing, Endotoxin Testing, and familiarity with ISO 5, 7, and 8 standards.

+ Proficiency in gowning and wearing a full bunny suit.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Microbiology preferred; other degrees may be considered.

+ 1-3 years of pharmaceutical experience preferred.

Work Environment

The technician will work 90% of the time in the micro lab, requiring gowning in a full bunny suit. Candidates should ensure no allergies to gowning materials.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
