    Job Title: Battery Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Battery Technician to perform installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of both lead-acid and lithium-ion battery systems. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of battery-powered equipment and backup power systems across our facilities. The chosen candidate will be responsible for managing a fleet of more than 150 lead-acid and lithium-ion forklift batteries and chargers.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, inspect, and maintain lead-acid and lithium-ion battery systems in industrial and commercial environments.

    + Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on battery banks, chargers, and associated control systems.

    + Use diagnostic tools to test battery performance, identify faults, and ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.

    + Monitor battery health and maintain accurate service records, including voltage, current, and temperature logs.

    + Safely handle and dispose of battery materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.

    + Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot power issues and optimize battery performance.

    + Support emergency power systems and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units during outages or maintenance events.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with lithium battery systems.

    + Experience with lead-acid battery systems.

    + Ability to perform preventive maintenance.

    + Proficiency in blueprint reading.

    + Skill in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters.

    + Experience with forklift and heavy equipment.

    + Knowledge of electrical systems and vehicle diagnostics.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to fabricate components as needed.

    + Experience with reach lift operations.

    Work Environment

     

    This position operates on the 1st shift from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a 40+ hour work week. Most areas within the facility are climate-controlled, ensuring a comfortable work environment.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
